"Ottoman occupation destroyed the villages and vineyards of Meskheti Region. Over the past decade I have been working to bring back the local endemic vines. So far I have been able to identify 24 of the 40 varieties that I located in the wild. I forage these grapes at harvest time and make small quantities of these wines, fermented with skins for 6 months in the Qvevri."
